Mangoes may aid weight loss and improve insulin sensitivity
A new study published in the journal Nutrients suggests that eating two cups of fresh mango daily can improve insulin sensitivity in overweight or obese adults. This challenges the belief that mangoes hinder weight loss. The study involved 48 adults who were divided into two groups. One group consumed mangoes, while the other ate a calorie-matched dessert. Results showed that the mango group had lower insulin resistance and improved blood sugar regulation. Participants eating mangoes maintained stable body weight, while the control group gained weight. The findings indicate that mangoes may support better insulin function without contributing to weight gain.
