Manipur CM announces joint postings for Meitei and Kuki police recruits to promote unity
Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh announced that newly recruited police personnel from the Meitei and Kuki communities will be posted together to promote unity and peace in the state. Nearly 2,000 recruits graduated from the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy. Singh emphasized the importance of teamwork among the recruits, stating they will work together as they were trained. He noted that the community divisions are a recent development and aims to restore the previous unity in Manipur. Regarding the law and order situation, Singh acknowledged its complexity and stated that peace is gradually returning to the state. He also addressed the issue of illegal immigration, highlighting that it is a regional concern affecting multiple states.
