Marc-Edouard Vlasic out with recurring injury for Sharks

San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic is set to miss some games due to a recurring upper-body injury. This issue has been troubling him since training camp. Coach Ryan Warsofsjy confirmed that Vlasic's injury is similar to one he had before the season began. Vlasic has been a regular player for the Sharks recently and even practiced on Wednesday. However, the injury became too painful after practice, forcing the team to make a change. "He’s been trying to play through it, but it got to the point… it was probably too much,” said Warsofsjy. Vlasic will not play in tonight's game against the Carolina Hurricanes, where Brent Burns will return to the SAP Center. The 37-year-old defenseman is in his 19th NHL season. He previously missed training camp and part of this season before making his debut on January 2. More updates on his condition are expected.
