Marcos confirms Philippines will not cooperate with ICC drug war investigation
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced that the Philippines will not cooperate with the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding its investigation into the drug war under former President Rodrigo Duterte. Marcos confirmed this stance during a press interview in Cavite. Duterte has challenged the ICC to investigate his drug war, which has been linked to thousands of deaths. Marcos stated that if Duterte wishes to engage with the ICC, it is his choice, but the government will not intervene. Marcos also mentioned that the Philippine National Police and the Department of Justice are currently investigating deaths related to the drug war. He emphasized the government's commitment to pursuing justice for victims of extrajudicial killings.
