Marcos signs laws to define Philippine maritime zones and assert rights in West Philippine Sea

It defines various maritime zones, including the exclusive economic zone and continental shelf. The Philippine Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act establishes designated sea lanes for foreign vessels and aircraft. It outlines the rights and responsibilities of foreign entities using these lanes and sets penalties for non-compliance.
