Marian Wallace evolves into a powerful drug lord
The third season of Gangs of London has premiered, featuring a significant evolution of Michelle Fairley's character, Marian Wallace. The series, known for its intense crime drama, resumes months after major power shifts among London's gangs. In the previous season, Elliot Carter, an undercover cop turned gangster, took control after Sean Wallace was imprisoned. This power shift affected Marian both personally and in business. After losing her family due to her quest for power, Fairley explained that Marian now channels her bitterness into building a successful drug trade business. Marian's relationships have also changed. Fairley noted that she lacks personal connections but maintains professional ties, even with former allies like Luan Dushaj and Ed Dumani, highlighting the distinction between work and friendship in her life. Season 3 introduces new challenges, including a drug scandal that threatens Marian's operations. The Mayor of London plans to crack down on the gangs after a batch of tainted cocaine causes multiple deaths. This scandal ignites tension, as various gangs scramble to identify those responsible. New characters are introduced, including Marian's brother Cornelius Quinn and assassin Zeek. These additions create fresh conflicts and complicate her struggles. Fairley mentioned Marian's losses drive her to survive, leading to ruthless decisions as all characters strive to maintain their lives, often with violent outcomes. All eight episodes of the third season are now available for streaming in the UK and Australia. The first two seasons can be watched on Netflix in the US, but Season 3 is not yet available there.
