Marina Alex retires from LPGA Tour after strong finish in Florida
Marina Alex has retired from the LPGA Tour after finishing tied for 12th at the CME Group Tour Championship in Naples, Florida. The two-time tournament winner played on the tour since 2013 and earned $5 million in her career. Alex, 34, won the Portland Classic in 2018 and the Palos Verdes Championship in 2022. She had 10 top-25 finishes this season, including five in the top 10. Her final round was a 6-under-par 66. Other players retiring this year include Lexi Thompson and Ally Ewing, who also played their last competitive rounds. They join a list of several players who have announced their retirements in 2024.
