Mark Charnock stars in ITV's Cadfael crime drama

Mark Charnock is best known for playing Marlon Dingle on the ITV show Emmerdale. He has been part of the series since 1996, making him one of the longest-serving cast members. Charnock, who is 56 years old, will celebrate 30 years with the show next year. Throughout his time on Emmerdale, Charnock’s character has faced many challenges, including a stroke and complex relationships. Recently, Marlon has been searching for his missing daughter, April Windsor. Charnock shared that these emotional storylines resonate deeply with viewers and bring attention to real-life issues. Before Emmerdale, Charnock acted in the crime drama Cadfael, where he played Brother Oswin. This character assisted the main character, Brother Cadfael, in solving mysteries in 12th century England. Charnock was part of the show from 1994 to 1997, alongside notable actors like Sir Derek Jacobi. In addition to these roles, Charnock has made appearances in other popular shows like Coronation Street and EastEnders.
