Markham man charged with multiple jewelry store frauds

A 25-year-old man from Markham has been charged with multiple fraud offenses. These charges are linked to incidents at a jewelry store in Pickering earlier this year. The Durham Regional Police reported that the man visited a Peoples Jewellers on January 8 and January 11. During these visits, he used different names and allegedly purchased more than $20,000 in jewelry using a store line of credit. An investigation began on March 5 after police identified the suspect. They noted that he had committed similar frauds in other areas of the Greater Toronto Area, though they did not provide further details on these cases. On Saturday, police charged Samuel Yzraiib with two counts of fraud over $5,000 and 23 counts of possession of someone else's identification. He also faces two counts for failing to comply with a court order. Authorities are asking anyone with more information to get in touch with them or reach out to Crime Stoppers anonymously.
