Massachusetts man charged for stabbing relative over 10 times
A man from Massachusetts has been charged with stabbing a female relative multiple times. The incident left her in critical condition. Sebastian Degout, 38, reportedly stabbed the woman over 10 times inside their home in Dracut on Saturday. The police received the call at about 5:07 p.m. and learned that Degout left the scene afterward. Police quickly launched a search and found Degout a short distance away, near Humphrey and Methuen streets in Lowell. He was arrested without incident. They also discovered a knife that is believed to have been used in the attack. Emergency responders treated the woman at the scene before she was taken to Lowell General Hospital. She was later transferred to a trauma facility, where she remains in critical condition. Degout has been charged with aggravated assault, battery with a dangerous weapon, and other offenses. He was arraigned in court on Tuesday and is being held without bail. A hearing to assess his dangerousness is scheduled for Thursday. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
