Massachusetts man who donated Rockefeller tree suffers stroke, community rallies for support

Earl Albert, who donated a 74-foot Norway spruce to Rockefeller Center in memory of his late wife, suffered a stroke on November 7. His family hopes he can attend the tree lighting ceremony on December 4. Since the stroke, Albert's family has been unable to travel to New York. They are encouraging the public to send Christmas cards to lift his spirits during recovery. The tree, adorned with 50,000 lights and a Swarovski star, honors Lesley Albert, who passed away in 2020. The family could not hold a funeral due to pandemic restrictions.
