Masvidal backs Topuria to defeat Gaethje in fight

Former UFC fighter Jorge Masvidal has expressed strong opinions about Justin Gaethje's future. In a recent interview, Masvidal claimed that Ilia Topuria could “flatline” Gaethje in a potential fight, even suggesting it could leave Gaethje "in a coma." Masvidal praised Topuria’s power, claiming he hits harder than many fighters in the lightweight division. He believes Topuria has the potential to win a title and defend it. Masvidal criticized the idea of letting Gaethje fight Topuria, saying that the UFC doesn't want to see Gaethje lose in such a decisive manner. Currently, Justin Gaethje is expected to fight Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title soon, after his recent victory over Rafael Fiziev. Although there is speculation about a match between Gaethje and Topuria, it may not happen immediately. The lightweight title picture is complicated, with multiple contenders in play, but both fighters are considered possible opponents for Makhachev in the future.
