Mathilde Gremaud prioritizes personal growth over competition

Mathilde Gremaud, a freestyle skiing Olympic champion, recently shared her experience of taking a break from the sport. The 25-year-old from Switzerland has had a successful career, winning a gold medal in slopestyle and three Crystal Globes in 2024. Despite her achievements, she felt the need to step back and focus on herself. In January, Gremaud chose to take a break from competitive skiing. She acknowledged the stress that came with her success and recognized she needed to reconnect with herself outside of skiing. “I was feeling really good on my skis, but I was also feeling too much stress from different places,” she explained. She emphasized the importance of personal growth away from sports. Gremaud stated that taking time for herself was a positive choice, and she feels much better as a result. She looks forward to the World Championships scheduled next month in her home country, feeling refreshed and ready.
