Mattie’s Strudel Haus in Bath is closing storefront
A popular strudel shop in Bath is closing its doors but will continue to operate in a new way. Mattie's Strudel Haus, located at 126 W. Main St., plans to transition to a mobile-only business. This change is set to take place by late April. Owner Kelly Vlasics announced the closure via a video on Facebook. She explained that the decision was made to improve her work-life balance. Vlasics emphasized gratitude for her loyal customers while reassuring them that this is not the end of her business. In her new mobile model, Vlasics will sell her strudels at local events and farmers' markets, such as the Easton Farmers' Market and Nazareth Farmers Market. Some flavors will also be available at Bechdolt’s Orchard in Hellertown and Kielbasa Factory in Maryland. Mattie's Strudel Haus is known for a variety of strudel flavors. Sweet options include apple, cherry, and mixed berry. Savory varieties feature fillings like buffalo chicken and cheesesteak. Prices range from $15 to $19. Vlasics, a Bath native and third-generation strudel maker, started her journey in 2017, making strudels for family and church events. The popularity of her treats led her to open a storefront in 2019. As she prepares for this new chapter, Vlasics encourages customers to stay updated through her website and email list.
