MCD seeks new toll agency for 156 entry points

timesofindia.indiatimes.com

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has started a new process to select a toll agency for 156 entry points in the city. Interested developers can submit technical and financial proposals by March 24 to collect tolls and upgrade toll plaza barriers. MCD aims to increase annual revenue from tolls to between Rs 950 crore and Rs 1,000 crore, up from Rs 864 crore. The contract will last three years, with a possible six-month extension. New project specifications have been revised to attract more bidders. Currently, MCD collects tolls based on rates set in 2007. The agency plans to use RFID and handheld devices for toll collection. The standing committee, which has not been formed for nearly two years, will finalize the rate and select the agency.
