Mecca installs 200 smart screens for Umrah monitoring
Saudi Arabia has enhanced security in Mecca for the Umrah season by installing over 200 smart screens at the main Control Centre. This technology allows real-time monitoring of pilgrim movement and crowd management. The Control Centre oversees 11 main entry points and eight internal security checkpoints. It coordinates security tasks across seven sectors, ensuring effective communication and rapid response to any issues. The system integrates with the Grand Mosque’s Security Operations Center and operates 24/7. It helps authorities track pilgrim flow, monitor crowd density, and respond to incidents during the busy Ramadan period.
