Mecca records highest rainfall in Saudi Arabia, 64mm
Mecca had the highest rainfall in Saudi Arabia on Friday, according to the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture. The Sarar area in Taif received 64 millimeters of rain in just 24 hours. The report showed that ten regions across the Kingdom experienced rainfall. Data was collected from 129 monitoring stations. Other regions affected included Riyadh, Qassim, and the Eastern Province. In the Mecca region, Al Hada Park in Taif recorded 42.8mm of rain. Madrakah in Al Jamum had 40.4mm, and Al Shafa in Taif saw 27.3mm. King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah received 24mm. The Asir region was also impacted, with Tamniyah in Abha recording 29.4mm and Al Shaaf in Abha getting 27.2mm. The Jazan region showed 23.7mm at Al Dair. Rain was reported across Al Baha, with Al Baha city receiving 11.8mm. The Eastern Province had lower amounts, with Umm Al Shafallah train station measuring 6mm. Riyadh saw more moderate rainfall, with Kharoub farms in Shaqra getting 4mm. Other areas recorded less than that, including Al Thumama Airport with 2.6mm and Habona station in Najran receiving 4.2mm. Overall, the rainfall brought much-needed water to various regions in Saudi Arabia.
