Media day held for Section III golf teams

Players and coaches from 13 boys and girls golf teams attended a media day at Cicero-North Syracuse High School on March 15. This event was organized by syracuse.com to kick off the spring season. Athletes gathered to meet their opponents, take photos, and chat about the upcoming season. Practices for the teams started this week. It was a lively atmosphere, filled with excitement and friendly competition. In boys golf news, the Christian Brothers Academy boys' team recently captured their third straight Section III title. One standout player has earned the All-Central New York golfer of the year honors and plans to join a Big Ten college program next fall. The West Genesee and Jamesville-DeWitt boys' golf teams also celebrated as repeat champions. Young players are getting guidance from experienced teammates in tournaments. For girls golf, a poll was conducted to find the MVP of Section III. Additionally, all-star selections for the OHSL girls golf were announced for 2024. Two golfers from Section III performed well at the state championships last year.
