Medical emergency closes Fremont's Warm Springs BART station

A "major medical emergency" at the Warm Springs BART station in Fremont caused its closure and disrupted service Thursday evening. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. when an individual entered the trackway and may have been struck by a train, according to a BART spokesperson. Service is limited to one track between Warm Springs and Milpitas. AC Transit Line 217 is providing bus service between Warm Springs and Milpitas. The cause of the person's presence on the tracks is under investigation.
