Medina will replace restroom at Roscoe Ewing Park
City officials in Medina, Ohio, are planning to replace the restroom at Roscoe Ewing Park this summer. The current restroom is old and badly needs an upgrade. Parks and Recreation Director Jansen Wehrley explained that the existing restroom is a permanent vault type, which does not require running water. This type of restroom is open year-round. Wehrley noted that they have postponed the replacement for three years due to other larger projects taking priority. The current restroom has significant wear, with broken concrete and a door that is hard to open. It is frequently used by park-goers, especially those walking on the multi-purpose trail. "We hope the new restroom will last for the next 25 years," Wehrley said. The plan includes removing the old restroom and preparing the site for quick installation of the new one. Councilor Jim Shields expressed support for the project, noting that the new restroom will be placed in the same location. He mentioned that it serves as a convenient stop for many trail users, often leading to lines at busy times.
