Meet local officials at March 29 Sunnyvale event

The League of Women Voters of Cupertino-Sunnyvale is hosting its annual “Meet and Greet” event on March 29. It will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Grand Hotel, located at 865 W. El Camino Real in Sunnyvale. Community members can meet local elected officials, including city council, school board, and county representatives. This is a chance for residents to ask questions and share their concerns in person. Those interested in attending can register online. The Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) is seeking applicants for several vacancies on its 2016 Measure B Citizens Oversight Committee. This committee oversees the distribution of funds from a sales tax measure aimed at improving transportation projects in Santa Clara County. Members will ensure transparency and accountability in how these funds are used, focusing on public transit, highways, and alternate transportation methods. Committee members are responsible for conducting audits and public hearings. They will also inform the community with annual reports and ensure proper spending according to the approved ballot language.
