Meghan Markle filmed Netflix show at rented Montecito house

Meghan Markle's new Netflix show, "With Love, Meghan," is filmed in a beautiful Montecito, California, home, but it's not her family's actual residence. Instead, Meghan chose a rental farmhouse for the series. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, wants to keep her real home as a "safe haven" for her family. In an interview, Meghan explained that she wants to protect the special moments with her children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. She mentioned that having a filming crew of over 80 people in their home would disrupt their family life. Meghan and Prince Harry bought their current home in 2020 after stepping back from royal duties. Their residence includes nine bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a pool, a playground, and a garden. The couple was drawn to the beautiful grounds when they purchased the property. The house used for filming, which is owned by philanthropists Tom and Sherrie Cipolla, is valued at $8 million. It features a large kitchen and stunning views, along with avocado and lemon trees on its five-acre property. Though Meghan did not film inside their real house, she included parts of it in the show. Viewers can catch glimpses of their chicken coop, garden, and orchard. Meghan also involved her children in the show, which made it a special experience for them, as it was their first time seeing her work. You can watch Season 1 of "With Love, Meghan" on Netflix.
