Meghan Markle pursued luxury freebies after joining Royal Family
Meghan Markle reportedly had a strong interest in luxury freebies, even after marrying Prince Harry and joining the Royal Family. This information comes from a new book by royal author Tina Brown, who often critiques Meghan and Harry. According to the book, "The Palace Papers," Meghan gained a reputation among luxury brands for wanting designer gifts. After her wedding in 2018, a member of her team told a publicist to keep sending her items. Brown suggests Meghan enjoyed the celebrity lifestyle and sought deals even while being a royal. Before their departure from royal duties in 2020, Meghan was aware of potential deals she couldn't pursue due to her royal status. Brown stated that Meghan saw opportunities on the “celebrity buffet” that the couple had to avoid because of their role in the monarchy. Brown believes that Harry wanted to leave the Royal Family, and Meghan helped him with that decision. She described Meghan as a strategist, familiar with the world of deals and agents. This contrasted with Harry, who she said was less experienced in that area. The Duchess of Sussex has not responded to the claims made in the book.
