Men arrested for conspiracy to murder in GTA
Two men have been arrested in connection with a murder plot in Pickering, Ontario. The arrests occurred shortly after a mass shooting at the Piper Arms pub on March 7. Gokilan Balamurale and Brannan Balasegar, both 24 years old, now face new charges. Each man is charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and possession of stolen property. Initially, they were suspected of planning an attack at Mansion Kitchen and Bar. Additional court documents now indicate they also intended to target the Social Bar and Lounge and Poondy Bakery. The mass shooting at Piper Arms injured 12 people. It took place during the pub's grand opening when three masked assailants opened fire into the crowd. The shocking incident was captured on surveillance cameras. As of now, no one has been arrested for that shooting. There are unconfirmed claims that the arrests might be related to ongoing disputes within the towing industry in the Greater Toronto Area. Some local drivers believe the incident involves conflicts over illegal towing operations. Balamurale's mother is a director at Piper Arms. Both establishments have denied any involvement in illegal activities. Police are still investigating and have not confirmed any connections between the shootings and the towing industry. They have asked for public patience as they gather evidence.
