Merrimack man arrested after high-speed police chase
A man from Merrimack, New Hampshire, has been arrested after allegedly leading police on a high-speed chase late Wednesday night. The chase involved several police departments, including those from Hillsboro, Henniker, and Hopkinton. The police began pursuing Eric Dearborn, 35, around 11 p.m. when he refused to stop while driving a Toyota Tundra on Route 202. Authorities reported that Dearborn continued to speed away, heading east on Route 77 toward Dunbarton. Police used spike strips at the intersection of Route 77 and Route 13 in an attempt to stop him. Although the strips caused one of his tires to go flat, Dearborn did not stop and continued to flee through Bow and Concord. Eventually, police were able to stop him on Interstate 89 near the Hopkinton town line using additional spike strips. After his vehicle was halted, Dearborn jumped out and ran into the woods. He was later picked up by someone not identified. Meanwhile, his passenger, who has also not been named, was arrested at the scene. Dearborn was arrested on Thursday after another attempt to escape from the police. He is facing multiple charges, including disobeying an officer, reckless operation, and resisting arrest. Investigations are ongoing, and officials are asking anyone with information to contact the police.
