Mestek sues Chinese company for trademark infringement over HVAC tools sales

Mestek Inc., a Westfield HVAC manufacturer, has filed a lawsuit against Shenzhen Mestek Electronics Co. The Chinese company is accused of using the Mestek name to sell unrelated temperature and moisture sensing tools online. The lawsuit claims that Shenzhen Mestek is selling fan components made by Westfield’s Mestek alongside its own products on platforms like Amazon and Alibaba. The American company discovered the trademark issue in October 2024. Mestek has used its brand name for 40 years and traces its roots back to 1898. The Chinese company registered a similar logo in 2017, renewing it in 2022. The Chinese firm has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
