Meta launches AI video generator Movie Gen for filmmakers

Meta has launched a new AI video generator called Movie Gen, aimed at filmmaking partners. Unlike many competitors, it offers advanced features, including the ability to create 16-second videos and upscale them to 1080p resolution, though at a slower frame rate. Movie Gen allows users to personalize videos using reference images and offers text-based editing for adjustments. It can modify elements like character outfits and camera movements, enhancing flexibility in video creation. Additionally, Movie Gen generates soundtracks based on video prompts, incorporating relevant audio elements. However, it does not currently support human speech. Access is limited to select filmmakers, similar to other recent AI tools in the industry.
