Meta unveils AI model Movie Gen for generating video and audio clips

Meta has introduced a new AI model called Movie Gen, capable of generating realistic video and audio clips based on user prompts. The model can create videos up to 16 seconds long and audio clips up to 45 seconds long, featuring synchronized sound effects and music. Movie Gen's capabilities include editing existing videos, such as altering scenes or adding elements. Meta claims the model competes with offerings from startups like OpenAI and ElevenLabs, based on favorable blind test results. Unlike its Llama language models, Meta is not planning to release Movie Gen for public use. Instead, the company will collaborate with the entertainment industry to explore its applications and integrate it into Meta's products next year.
