Meta unveils Movie Gen, a new AI model for creating realistic video clips

Meta has introduced a new AI model called Movie Gen, designed to create realistic video and audio clips. This announcement follows the recent Meta Connect event, where the company showcased new hardware and its updated language model, Llama 3.2. Movie Gen can generate high-definition videos up to 16 seconds long and allows for targeted edits to existing clips. It features 30 billion parameters for video and 13 billion for audio, claiming to outperform competitors in video quality. While Movie Gen is not yet available for public use, Meta hinted at a future release. Other companies, like OpenAI and Google, are also developing similar video models but have not yet made them widely accessible.
