Meta unveils Movie Gen, a new AI model for generating video and audio clips

Meta has introduced a new AI model called Movie Gen, capable of generating realistic video and audio clips based on user prompts. This model aims to compete with offerings from companies like OpenAI and ElevenLabs. Movie Gen can create videos up to 16 seconds long and audio clips up to 45 seconds. It can also edit existing videos, adding elements like sound effects and background music. Meta plans to collaborate with the entertainment industry to explore its applications. Unlike its Llama language models, Meta is not planning to release Movie Gen for public use. The company is focusing on partnerships with content creators and will integrate the tool into its products next year.
