Meta unveils Movie Gen AI video generator capable of creating films and music

Meta has introduced Movie Gen, an AI video generator that can create videos from text prompts, edit existing videos, and generate music and sound effects. This tool is not yet available to the public. Movie Gen can produce realistic videos, including adding audio to generated content. It allows users to insert images of people into videos and edit footage while maintaining the original content. However, the audio generator is currently limited to 45 seconds. Meta's chief product officer stated that the tool is not ready for release due to high costs and long generation times. The company is collaborating with filmmakers and exploring partnerships with Hollywood stars for future projects.
