Michelin awards 68 hotels in Greece for excellence
Michelin has launched its first MICHELIN Key selection for hotels in Greece, awarding honors to 68 properties. This new designation aims to classify hotels based on unique experiences, rather than just amenities. There are three categories of MICHELIN Keys. One Key signifies a very special stay, highlighting hotels with character and outstanding service. Two Keys represent an exceptional stay, showcasing unique hotels with charm and a memorable atmosphere. Three Keys indicate an extraordinary stay, reserved for remarkable hotels that offer top-tier comfort and elegance. The prestigious Three MICHELIN Keys have been awarded to one hotel in Athens: the Four Seasons Astir Palace. This luxurious hotel features over 300 rooms and boasts stunning views of the Aegean Sea. It combines 1960s architecture with modern elegance and offers top-notch facilities like several restaurants, including a MICHELIN-starred eatery, a bar, a spa, and private beaches. Seven hotels received Two MICHELIN Keys for their exceptional offerings. Among them is the Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens, a beautifully renovated Victorian mansion with breathtaking views of the Acropolis. The Dolli at Acropolis stands out for its boutique feel and rooftop infinity pool. The Aristi Mountain Resort in Epirus provides a serene nature escape, while the Eliamos Villas Hotel & Spa in Kefalonia features private villas with sea views. Sixty hotels were awarded One MICHELIN Key, reflecting a diverse range of accommodations. Many of the awarded properties are located in popular areas like Mykonos, Santorini, and Athens. Unique designs such as the Dexamenes Seaside Hotel, built from former wine reservoirs, and the Kapsaliana Village Hotel in Crete, highlight Greece's rich heritage. The selection includes well-known international brands as well as local collections, such as the Katikies collection in Santorini. Several hotels focus on personalized experiences, featuring fewer rooms for a more intimate atmosphere. Travelers can find and book these hotels through the free MICHELIN Guide website and mobile app. The guide also offers a concierge service to assist guests during their stay.
