Michelle Obama reflects on Sasha's car accident experience

Michelle Obama recently shared her feelings about her daughter Sasha's frightening car accident. During an appearance on a podcast, she talked about the challenges of parenting and the struggle of letting go as children grow up. In the podcast, Michelle recalled a specific incident when Sasha was in high school and had a serious accident. "Once they got their license, we got a car for them," Michelle explained. She mentioned how the Secret Service had to follow her daughters to school and parties. Then, she revealed, “One time Sasha got T-boned; literally her car was totalled.” Luckily, Sasha did not suffer major injuries. Michelle also talked about the helpful role of the Secret Service in teaching her daughters to drive. She recalled how they encouraged Malia to drive independently by giving her hands-on instructions like “Floor it... Press the gas as hard as you can, and then I want you to stop.” Despite the scary experience of the accident, both Sasha and Malia became confident drivers. Sasha has been spotted driving around Los Angeles, appearing relaxed and unfazed by the paparazzi. In May 2022, she was seen dropping Malia off at the airport and seemed comfortable behind the wheel.
