Michigan boys basketball anticipates 2025-26 season rankings
Several Michigan high school boys basketball teams are already being highlighted as top contenders for the 2025-26 season. With the current season ending, fans and analysts are looking ahead to see which teams and players might shine next year. Flint Carman-Ainsworth finishes the list at number 25. The team, which recently reached the state finals, will have to replace four starters. Only Kendreyes White is returning, but he is expected to have a strong season. Warren Fitzgerald, ranked 24th, is a solid team with 10 returning players. They had a notable 20-win season but faced an early playoff exit. Dearborn follows at 23, bringing back seven players after achieving another winning season. Lansing Waverly, in 22nd place, made significant strides under their coach. Freeland, number 14, returns its entire roster after a successful run, while Grand Rapids Catholic Central, in 13th, looks forward to competing again with several key juniors returning. Romulus Summit Academy, at 12, made waves this season and has key players ready for another shot at the title. Birmingham Groves, ranked 11th, has a solid foundation as well, with majority of players returning. Detroit Cass Tech is at number 10, while Detroit U-D Jesuit is 9th, facing the challenge of replacing its star players but remains optimistic due to a strong coaching staff. Grand Rapids Northview, at 8th, has a star player returning, while Detroit Martin Luther King ranks 7th thanks to its young roster. Detroit Renaissance is in 6th, with capable players ready to step up in the absence of shared talent. Muskegon holds the 5th spot, with a key player returning from injury. Rockford is 4th, expected to remain competitive with their top players still on the roster. Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice ranks 3rd, thanks to promising talent returning next year. Wayne Memorial, in 2nd place, is looking to build on their recent success with the return of their leading scorer, while East Lansing leads as the top-ranked team.
