Michigan man arrested after leaving sexual note on car
A 38-year-old man from Michigan, Thomas Mellick Hensler, faces multiple charges after allegedly leaving a sexual note on a teenager's car. The incident occurred at a Target store in Auburn Hills on March 18. Hensler's note offered to pay the 17-year-old for sexual favors and included his phone number. The teen found the note upon returning to her vehicle and immediately reported it to the police. Officers used the provided number to call Hensler, who was found still parked nearby. They discovered what they suspect to be methamphetamine in his car. Hensler was arrested on the same day as the incident. The Oakland County Prosecutor's Office then filed charges against him, including child sexually abusive activity, using a computer to commit a crime, and drug possession. Prosecutor Karen McDonald noted that other parents have reported similar notes with the same phone number found on their children’s cars. During his arraignment, Hensler was given a bond of $25,000. If he posts bond, he must wear a GPS device and cannot return to the Target or have unsupervised contact with anyone under 18. He is scheduled to appear in court again on March 27. If convicted, he could face up to 50 years in prison.
