Michigan women's basketball secures NCAA Tournament spot
The Michigan women's basketball team has secured a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the seventh consecutive year, earning a 6-seed. They will face the winner of a play-in game between Princeton and Iowa State on Friday in South Bend, Indiana. Michigan will have less than 48 hours to prepare for their opponent, a change from previous years when they had more time. Coach Kim Barnes Arico noted the challenge of preparing for both teams simultaneously. The Wolverines finished the regular season tied for fourth in the Big Ten and reached the semifinals of the conference tournament. They are led by freshmen Olivia Olson and Syla Swords, both averaging over 16 points per game.
