A milk trader and two others were attacked late Tuesday night in Ludhiana. The attack happened outside the Verka plant on Ferozepur Road. Pritpal Singh, 43, from Bathinda, reported that about 12 people assaulted him, his friend Sukhwinder Singh, and an employee named Bunty. They were dragged out of their car and beaten with iron rods and sticks. Singh claimed the attackers wanted to extort money from him. When he refused, they assaulted him and snatched a gold chain and a mobile phone. Police believe the attack may stem from an old business rivalry. Inspector Neeraj Chaudhary said the incident seems linked to disputes over tenders. The injured men were taken to a local hospital, where they are in stable condition. Police are investigating the case and will file charges based on their findings.
