Minister Misal's office rent paid by CIDCO

Madhuri Misal, a junior minister in the Maharashtra government, has decided to work from a rented office rather than the state secretariat. Misal is the minister of state for urban development and other portfolios. She was appointed as a junior minister in December 2024. Misal has been allocated an office at Mantralaya, but she claims it is too small for her needs. She requested a larger office at Nariman Point and instructed the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) to cover the rent, which is over ₹ 3.5 lakh each month. CIDCO has approved this request. The office will be in Mittal Tower, and the agreement process is expected to be finalized soon. According to CIDCO, Misal's previous office at Mantralaya is undergoing repairs, which justifies the move. It is unusual for a minister to choose a private office, especially when public offices are available. Officials did not comment on why CIDCO is paying for the minister's office. Misal’s office indicated that this arrangement is temporary until a suitable office is available in Mantralaya.
