Minor charged for praising Aurangzeb in Lonavla
A minor has been booked by the Lonavla police for making a controversial social media post. The post reportedly praised Mughal emperor Aurangzeb while criticizing Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. This sparked tensions in the city after it went viral on Friday. The accused, who works at a local bakery, has returned to his home in North India since the incident. After the post gained attention, members of right-wing groups, including Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, demanded action against him at the police station. Suhas Jagtap, a senior police officer, confirmed that the minor was booked and emphasized the need for peace. A peace committee with representatives from both communities has been formed to discuss the matter and maintain order in Lonavla. The case has been registered under section 196, which deals with promoting enmity between religious groups. The police are continuing their investigation into the situation.
