Miss Universe 2024 features Filipino pride with Chelsea Manalo and diverse contestants
MEXICO CITY — The Miss Universe 2024 pageant features Chelsea Manalo, the first Filipino Black American delegate, among nearly 130 contestants. She is joined by three other contestants of Filipino descent from New Zealand, Great Britain, and Bahrain. The pageant has introduced new rules, allowing mothers and removing restrictions on age, marital status, and body type. The main event will take place on November 16, with a new swimsuit round and a selection committee that includes notable figures like designer Michael Cinco. The new crown, "Lumiere De L’Infini," was unveiled in a ceremony attended by prominent figures. The event will be co-hosted by former winners R’Bonney Gabriel and Catriona Gray, with the competition broadcasted across various networks.
