Miss Universe 2024 features first Philippine-made crown for pageant
The Miss Universe 2024 pageant will feature a crown made in the Philippines for the first time. The "Lumière de l'Infini" crown, created by Filipino artisans, uses rare south sea pearls from Palawan. It was unveiled on November 13 in Mexico City. This new crown is the 13th in Miss Universe history, surpassing other major pageants. The previous crowns used in Miss Universe were made in different countries. Currently, three of the four major international pageants have crowns made in Southeast Asia. The coronation night is set for November 16, with over 120 contestants competing. Chelsea Manalo represents the Philippines, aiming to be the fifth Filipino to win the title.
