Missing 19-year-old found dead in Queensland river

Emergency services in Queensland are investigating the death of a 19-year-old man whose body was found in the Bowen River Weir. He went missing while camping in Springlands, south of Townsville. The man vanished early Saturday morning. Friends reported him missing around 3:45 AM after he did not return to his campsite. A search operation began, and his body was discovered downstream at about 7 AM. Authorities have not yet identified the teenager. Heavy rainfall in the area, exceeding 500mm recently, may have played a role in the incident. Flood warnings remain in place for the region. Police are preparing a report for the coroner to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
