Missing boy found dead in pond near Chandigarh

A 14-year-old boy who went missing during the Holi festival has been found dead in a pond in Mohali, near Chandigarh. He disappeared on March 14 after telling his family he would be back by noon. When he did not return as promised, his family began to search for him. They found CCTV footage showing him walking towards a nearby farmhouse. His father mentioned that his slippers were discovered near the farmhouse. Some workers reported seeing the boy heading toward a nearby bridge. The boy's father said he had no enemies in the village and was unsure if his son fell into the pond accidentally. Kharar DSP Karan Sandhu reported that other people claimed to have seen the boy running towards the pond after the Holi festivities. The police have sent the boy's body to Kharar civil hospital for a postmortem examination. They stated that further investigations will depend on the autopsy results.
