Missouri cop not charged for shooting woman, infant
A Missouri police officer who shot and killed a woman and her infant daughter will not face charges, according to prosecutors. The incident occurred last November when officers responded to an assault report. The woman, Maria Pike, 34, was holding her three-month-old daughter, Destinii, when she allegedly lunged at officers with a knife. One officer shot her four times, resulting in both deaths. Prosecutors stated the officer's actions were legally justified under Missouri law. They noted there was insufficient evidence to prove the officer intentionally shot the infant.
