MIT announces free tuition for middle-class undergraduates starting in 2025
MIT will offer free tuition to undergraduate students from families earning less than $200,000 starting in the 2025-26 academic year. Students from families earning under $100,000 will also have housing, dining, and other costs covered. Currently, the total cost of attendance at MIT is about $85,960, with tuition alone at $61,990 for the 2024-25 year. Most students receive financial aid, with the median cost for those receiving aid at $12,938. MIT aims to attract talented students regardless of their financial situation.
