Modder creates app for AMD's GPU compatibility issues

gizmodo.com

AMD's new 9000 series RDNA 4 GPUs have faced issues with their FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR 4) technology, which is not compatible with many popular games. Currently, only 44 games support FSR 4, compared to over 100 for Nvidia's DLSS 4. A modder named HighYield has created a free app called OptiScaler that allows FSR 4 to work with games supporting Nvidia's DLSS 2 or Intel's XeSS. This app also enables frame generation and anti-latency support for users with Radeon RX 9070 or 9070 XT cards. While OptiScaler shows promising results, it is not officially approved by AMD. Users may experience inconsistencies, and AMD could potentially restrict the app as FSR 4 support expands.
