Modi promotes natural farming and tree planting in Gujarat
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday encouraged the Bharwad community in Gujarat to adopt natural farming practices and participate in tree planting. This call was part of the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" initiative. Speaking to a large crowd virtually from Bavaliyali Dham in Ahmedabad, PM Modi highlighted the need to heal the Earth from the harm caused by pollution and overuse of water. He emphasized that cow dung can help restore the environment and urged the community to embrace natural farming techniques. Modi also asked the community to ensure their cattle are vaccinated for foot-and-mouth disease, which is offered free by the government. He expressed the importance of the Bharwad community's role in achieving the goal of a developed India by 2047, with a focus on improving rural areas. The Prime Minister announced that the Kisan Credit Card would now be available for cattle rearers, allowing them access to low-interest loans. He also mentioned the Rashtriya Gokul Mission, which aims to conserve indigenous cattle breeds. Additionally, Modi urged parents to promote computer education for their daughters to adapt to changing times. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel attended the religious program at Bavaliyali Dham earlier that day, showing support for the initiatives discussed.
