Mohali police arrest carjacking gang members, recover stolen vehicles
Mohali police have arrested two members of a gang involved in car theft and robbery. The arrests were made by the crime investigation agency (CIA) in Mohali. The police say this gang has committed multiple crimes, including a recent carjacking. Mohali SSP Deepak Pareek reported that the suspects are Jaspreet Singh, 18, and Pritpal Singh, 25. Both are from nearby villages in the Fatehgarh Sahib district. During questioning, the suspects admitted to a carjacking in Phase-1, where they stole a Swift Dzire taxi at gunpoint. This led to charges against them under various laws, including the Arms Act. On the same night, they are also accused of stealing a motorcycle from the Balongi area. Additionally, they targeted a driver in Chandigarh, stealing parts from his car at gunpoint. Police have filed a separate report for this incident. The authorities recovered both the stolen taxi and motorcycle based on the suspects' information. The investigation is still ongoing, and the police expect to make more arrests soon.
