Mohali roads to be resurfaced starting in April
The Municipal Corporation of Mohali is set to begin resurfacing the city’s roads in April. This initiative aims to provide smoother rides for residents. During a recent Finance and Contract Committee meeting, officials approved ₹80 crore for various development projects. This funding will be used for road repairs, parks, sewage systems, and streetlights in Sectors 76 to 80. A senior official announced that the road carpeting will start within 10 days. They have a budget of ₹5 crore for this work. Additionally, GMADA will provide ₹10 crore for maintaining three key roads in the area. The meeting was chaired by Mayor Amarjit Singh Jeeti Sidhu and included other city officials and engineers. After the meeting, the mayor shared that new estimates for projects worth about ₹50 crore were approved. Work orders for earlier approved projects totaling ₹20 crore were also issued. Further, the public health department received approval for projects estimated at ₹9 crore. These efforts aim to improve water supply and sewage management throughout the city.
