Mohamed bin Zayed Foundation aims to improve global health
The Mohamed bin Zayed Foundation for Humanity has been officially launched in Abu Dhabi. President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reviewed its vision and goals, aiming to enhance human potential and support vulnerable communities globally. The foundation will focus on sustainable global health and inclusive development through innovative solutions. During a meeting with the foundation's delegation, the president was informed about its mission. This mission aligns with his commitment to improve quality of life and support humanitarian causes. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, established the foundation to coincide with Zayed Humanitarian Day, celebrated on the 19th of Ramadan in honor of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The foundation will have legal and financial independence to operate efficiently. It aims to work with national institutions to further sustainable development goals in global health. Key areas include humanitarian initiatives and promoting philanthropy both locally and internationally. Sheikh Mansour emphasized that the foundation will help empower individuals and provide relief during crises. He noted that it continues the humanitarian legacy of Sheikh Zayed, who focused on aiding those in need. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed described the foundation as a step toward a fairer world, aiming for innovation and partnerships to uplift communities. Over the next five years, the foundation plans to reach over 500 million people in more than 50 countries, including regions in Asia and Africa. It will build on previous charitable efforts led by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, including tackling diseases like polio and malaria. The foundation will also operate under Erth Zayed Philanthropies, which guides charitable initiatives linked to the UAE's leadership.
